Welcome Network

Churches across Ireland have responded to the call to welcome and support Ukrainian refugees fleeing war with Russia. Other churches, individuals and organisations are also supporting migrants, refugees and asylum seekers including those in Direct Provision Centres. A new initiative called “Welcome Network” seeks to help church communities show love, care, compassion and a warm welcome to refugees in their local area and to network those already active in doing this.

Welcome Network is a network of churches across Ireland who are willing to offer a real welcome to refugees. It has been set up in association with a number of organisations, including Evangelical Alliance Ireland, Aontas, Agape, Church in Chains, Serve the City and Tearfund.

Churches can join the network by simply going to www.welcomenetwork.ie/signup to complete a sign-up form.

There are no costs or membership fees involved. All we ask is that churches reach out to refugees and asylum seekers in their local area, to offer them a warm Christian welcome. Welcome Network will provide practical ideas for churches to come alongside these newcomers to our communities.

In turn, any refugees enquiring about local churches will be referred to a local network church, and Welcome Network will also help refugees to connect to the best information on services available to them.
