Finding Faith 2016: In NUMBERS
...and some other random fun stuff
For the last four years, VOX magazine editor Ruth Garvey-Williams has taken a week to travel around the country tracking down stories of faith, life and reality. This year's tour ran from 3 - 10 May. Here's the week in numbers...
7 days / 7 beds
1,167 miles / 1,878 kilometres
26 counties (in order): Donegal, Derry, Antrim, Armagh, Down, Louth, Meath, Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Carlow, Laois, Tipperary, Limerick, Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Westmeath, Longford, Leitrim, Cavan, Fermanagh, Tyrone... and back to Donegal.
4 tanks of petrol
508 photos taken
38,665 the number of words typed in interviews (raw material not counting blogs and edited versions).
39 people interviewed.
150 - the number of Psalms listened to in the car (audio Bible).
Funniest roadsign: couldn't slow down to take the photo so the design on the sign pictured is slightly different but the words are the same! (Seen on the Ballyjamesduff Road in County Cavan).
Funniest mistake: buying party invitations instead of thank you cards for my hosts.
Cheapest petrol: 122.8/litre (Applegreen in Listowel, Co Kerry)
Casualties: One pair of shoes (fell apart on the first day) and one black cardigan (accidentally left behind in the UCD coffee shop).
Bowls of soup consumed: 4 (forgot to take a picture of one of them).
